Where can i find a free spyware scanner and remover?
my computer acting weird. one scanner says i have tons of trojans yet my norton and defender says that there is nothing wrong. what is going on here ?
I have a question about that anti-spyware scanner 5 thing?
So it just randomly popped up, I started to run it but then it asked me again saying not to run it if I didn't know what it was. I went on here and looked it up and it said it was fake. So I closed everything that had to do with it. It never started to load or anything. So my question is, I have McAfee or something like that on my computer. Will it remove any viruses the anti spyware thing may have dowloaded? Thanks
Why do people use spyware scanner if they already have a antivirus?
I read alot of posts that help prevent users from viruses and other unwanted objects but i have found many people recommending an antivirus and a spyware scanner, not just the one.What's the problem with just an antivirus? is the antivirus virus scanner not good enough?but i thought these days anti virus detected anti spyware and rootkits etc

My computer wont let me download any virus or spyware scanners?
i think my computer is infected with something but im not sure it has declined in speed over the last week or so i tried to rune a spyware scan but it took over 24 hours just to scan 142308 files i used spy bot search and destroy so i thought i would update it but that did nothing. so i went to download.com and looked for a new spyware scanner and every time i found one i would download it and it would say download complete but i would click to open the file and it would say it is corrupt so then i thought it might be something w my internet but it wasn't because my computer runs slow even when it isn't online. so i tried a virus scan avg but it showed nothing so i decided to update it and it made avg go corrupt then i tried to download another copie of avg and when i went to open it, it said the file was corrupt. also on start up i will have a windows defender sheild at the bottem right of my screen but its not windows defender because theres two of them and also befor i use to be able to watch youtube videos or any other flash vides but now i can they just dont load and when they do the sound will cut out and it will start making a clicking sound in the speakers. so ill open vdtask manager ctrl alt delet and theres a process running iexplore.exe which i know is internet explore but i use mozzila fire fox and when i terminate iexplore,exe it stops click but iexplore.exe will turn back on and start clicking but its not on my bar at the bottem. but iexplore.exe will open all ther time so any game that i am playing minimizes and it starts too click. if you have any information that could help me please tell me because im desperate

I was just on the internet when a AVG pop up came up saying threat found, 'exploit rogue spyware scanner' what is this, it came up before and i did a full computer scan and no malicious software was detected?
Computer spyware scanner question...?
I have a program on my computer called AVG 7.5 which automatically scans my computer for 'threats'. After I've been logged on for an hour or so, the program finishes its scan, usually saying it has found a few 'threats' and that it has 'healed the files' and 'moved them to the vault.' I've looked at the file names for these 'threats' and they seem to be Tracking Cookies. Should I be worried? If so, how can I fix this problem?
Computer is slow - Am I using too many real time virus and spyware scanners?
I'm using a pretty cheap, wimpy laptop here 256 MB Ram so I don't want unnecessary processes running if I can help it. I've got Tea Timer Spybot's real time scanner always running, but I also have AVG free edition running a spyware scanner at all times along with the virus scanner. Do I need them both, because Tea Timer is taking up a lot of memory. Or will AVG alone be enough?

I was using ad aware by lavasoft and something seems to have happened. It's not being updated anymore, etc. So I'm in the market for a new spyware scanner remover program. Preferably free of course.
What is a good virus/spyware scanner that is free, doesn't change your homepage,and actually works?
You know,one where it can get rid of the viruses spyware or whatever else without having to sign up or pay monthly. Windows Defender is ok, but it's impossible to change the homepage to what I want. And of course, it has to be effective.Please

Where does spybot search and destroy and other spyware scanners find all of the files...?
When scanning my computer with spybot, it shows all of the files it is scanning and I notice alot of files that I thought were removed or files I never knew I had so I am wondering how to find these files so I can erase them because the scanner passed them up. They must be deep in the hard drive somewhere but I can't figure out where.Malwareb, that makes sense. Thanks
